Landscape Photography Tips

Fitz Roy's reflection in Laguna de los Tres - the walk may be tough for some, but believe me - it's all worth it.

ICONIC

The lenga and ñirre trees change their colours to vivid reds around the end of march.

FALL COLOURS

Bring a long lens for details of the spectacular walls of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.

ZOOM IN

On a quiet day Laguna Torre can serve as a perfect mirror for Cerro Torre.

REFLECTIONS

Don't get too distracted by the spectacular mountains. There's plenty of other things to photograph.

LOOK AROUND

Conditions are great for night photography. Bring a headlamp.

STAY AWAKE

It pays off to turn around from time to time - often there's more to see than the iconic peaks.

TURN AROUND

Parque Nacional Los Glaciares offers countless compositions of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. Some of them are off-limits. Don't forget your permit.

EXPLORE

If you're up for a real adventure: Hire a guide and go on an expedition to the other side of Cerro Torre. Unseen compositions are guaranteed.

REAR VIEW

It's not all sunshine down there in Patagonia. Bring rain gear and a sturdy tent.

COME PREPARED

During the summer months Cerro Torre is front-lit at sunrise. Later in the season the light comes from the side.
