TORRES  DEL PAINE

Walking the W-Trek

Before going on the W-Trek we got to see a considerable amount of pampa-like landscapes.

On the day 2 the first highlight awaited us: sunrise at the Torres del Paine

Along the lakes of Torres del Paine we got to see spectacular sunsets...

...and we were greeted by amazing morning light in the valleys.

The famous Cuernos del Paine looked different from behind...

...and the rising sun wouldn't dissappoint us.

The whole national park consists of countless hills and lakes of all shapes and colours.

Wind and rain made the walking less pleasant. Weather was changeable to say the least...

...and the blue of the lakes remained the only constant.

On day 4 we were once again greeted by a colourful sunrise...

...before we got to see the huge glaciers of the Southern Patagonian Icefield.

The colours that the sun produced in the clouds kept amazing us...

...and so did the textures of the glaciers below us.

The last day was dull again, but we were happy to be on the boat back towards the civilized world...

...and I stayed outside on the deck capturing the details of the ice of Glaciar Grey.
