I coincidentally stumbled upon Perú‘s Rainbow Mountain while planning last year’s trip. What was intended to be a little detour from our 5 day trek circling snowcapped Ausangate turned into an arduous 11-hour hike above an altitude of 4700m. It was when we arrived and were met by a horde of tourists that we learned that most people take daytours with minivans to get there – obviously a far less exhausting, but probably less rewarding way.
Well, so the site was literally overrun with people – meaning selfie-sticks and footsteps everywhere – and I was left with no other option than to shoot some close-ups. Luckily it turned out that I like one of them.
